So last week I went on a three-days trip to Florence with a good friend of mine and we ended up having an actual cultural blast. I know, I sound very old. But here's the thing: Florence is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and most of the stuff you see dates back to at least 600 years ago, which is astonishing. Believe it or not, History of Art is one of the many compulsory subjects in Italian schools, so we all studied these things at least twice.
I had already been to Florence when I was little, but of course I couldn't appreciate it as much as I can now. Seeing all those masterpieces I studied from books in real life, knowing what's behind them, it's just something else.
